More Information
A generation ago, Jack O?Connor, ?dean of outdoor writers,? taught that mountain hunting was a special pursuit, a form of hunting that took everyone to the high, wild places in search of some of the world?s most beautiful and elusive game. Author Mark Hampton follows his teaching and in his new book titled Addicted to Altitude, he will take readers to new heights in pursuit of wild sheep and goats amidst the world?s highest mountains and most magnificent scenery.

Author Hampton takes anyone along on what evolved as his greatest passion in Addicted to Altitude. Throughout this book, readers will travel with the author to the world?s legendary ranges such as the Hindu Kush, Himalayas, the Alps, the burning Red Sea Hills of Sudan, the precipitous Southern Alps of New Zealand, the Rocky Mountains, Cassiars, Alaska Range, and the harsh desert mountains of the American Southwest. They will explore high-country hunting for the wild sheep and goats of the world. From the diminutive chamois to the mighty argali, from desert bighorn to Rocky Mountain goat, readers can feel their lungs burn as they climb the high ridges and feel their heart race as they make the final stalk.

Extremely adventurous, highly informative and absolutely daring, Addicted to Altitude will inspire anyone to explore greater heights and expand their horizons when it comes to hunting.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Mark Hampton
is one of those fortunate individuals who grew up in a family of avid hunters. He was raised in rural, south Missouri where hunting and fishing were a way of life. The local school closed for deer season and still does to this day. Mark's father was serious about hunting taking polar bear, grizzly, dall sheep, moose, bighorn, mule deer, elk, and many other North American trophies. The passion for hunting ran deep in the family. Today, Hampton has hunted in twenty five countries on six continents and continues to explore remote areas searching for game. He has taken over one hundred and forty different species of big game with a handgun alone. Far from being a "collector", Mark is passionate about hunting. His enthusiastic dedication and goal-oriented drive has led him to various mountain ranges in pursuit of difficult and sought after big game.
